Argos team and García Márquez grandchildren unveiled the writer´s image
Caravana inaugurated the Gabriel García Márquez Studios on Tuesday November 15 in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. The event began with the red carpet on which actors, executives and friends walked. Francisco Bonilla, general director of Caravana, spoke about the facilities. Epigmenio Ibarra, from Argos, narrated the trip that has taken them to the current moment and Jorge Sánchez, director of the Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía, paid a tribute to the Colombian writer.
After a video presentation of the work that Argos has carried out for 24 year, Erendira Ibarra, actress and daughter of the founder of the company, was in charge of the opening speech: “This is a great evening for all our family and all of us who are Argos. I want to welcome you to your home, so that together we can break down frontiers and believe in freedom.”
“We are Argos, but we are also a bit more than Argos. Caravana was created as an independent company with the mission of offering production services to Mexican and foreign creators,” said Bonilla. “We are proud of what we do and our line of services is unlimited. What distinguishes us from the rest of similar companies are our comprehensive production services.”
They inaugurated four new forums called: Juan Rulfo, Bernardo Romero, Carlos Fuentes and Elena Poniatowska. “Our forums are one of the biggest services, with office space, dressing rooms and warehouses to store scenery. We built them together with Simaya,” mentioned Bonilla. The facilities are made up of 4 thousand square meters and have an efficient, environmental and economic electrical substation.
