Canela Media announced its 2023 Verano Canela (Summer) programming schedule. Canela.TV’s Summer content collection will include new originals and exciting premieres across all Canela.TV verticals: Canela Deportes, Canela Kids and Canela Music.
“Canela Media continues to add content and new original productions to bring more entertainment to the Hispanic community in the U.S. as part of our commitment to producing over 2,000 hours of original content for our audience. The Verano Canela Summer programming offers something for everyone in the family” said Isabel Rafferty Zavala, founder and CEO of Canela Media.
To kickstart the summer, Canela.TV will stream a selection of Hollywood hits including dramas, action-packed movies, and a selection of Spanish-language dubbed premium titles for a limited time on the Canela.TV app.
Launching mid-August is the most anticipated spinoff, Secretos de Las Indomables, a Canela.TV Original reality series from the creators of Secretos de Villanas. Canela.TV brings six of the biggest rule-breakers and headline-making pop culture icons: Alicia Machado, Ninel Conde, Zuleyka Rivera, Patricia Manterola, Amara “La Negra” and Yuri to embark on a trip of a lifetime.
Canela Media’s co-production partnership with Hemisphere Media brings original movies like:
Por Amor Al Money, a romantic comedy starring Cristián de la Fuente, Alejandra Espinoza, Armando Araiza, Erika de la Rosa, Guillermo Quintanilla, Maribel Fernández, and Armando Hernández; and Oscuro Veneno, a thriller starring Candela Márquez, Pedro Moreno, Eduardo Yáñez, Mauricio Mendoza, Yeniffer Behrens.
Canela Deportes will be launching Campeonas (premiering July 19th) a magazine show covering the latest news from the biggest women’s soccer event this Summer in Australia and New Zealand. The hosted show will feature stories beyond events on the field focused on Latina players and the environment around the competition with on-site coverage.
Also premiering on July 5th on Canela Deportes is El Score, a show focused on American Sports, covering the top news and games from the NFL, NBA, MLB, and top sports cultural events in America.
To spice up the summer with Latin vibes, Canela Music’s SXSW Showcase and Collection will include all of the best moments of Canela Music’s participation at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival earlier this year featuring Villano Antillano, PJ Sinsuela, Alejo, Rainao, Los Rivera Destino and Immasoul.
And the good vibes continue on Canela Music with the premiere of United by the Rhythm, a show about Latin artists’ philanthropic involvement, featuring artists such as Chiquis Rivera, Gaby Moreno, Monsieur Periné, and how they get involved in their community and use their influence to help others in need.
Rising Notes premiered on Canela Music in 2022 and has returned for a new season featuring emerging and trending artists that share their inspiration, what empowers them to make music, and how they connect to the Hispanic audience with their music, building their fan base. The second season of Rising Notes will showcase artists like Alejo, Ir Sais, Rainao, and more. Audiences will be able to experience the behind-the-scenes of an artist tour to experience the thrill, obstacles, and excitement alongside their favorite artist with the launch of Between Stages. This season of Between Stages will include Alex Sensation and PJ Sinsuela. Additionally, there will be new episodes of Beats & Bits, Mixtapes, and Pop Quiz.
¡Ponle Canela!, Canela.TV’s daily entertainment news magazine will feature a weekly summer segment showcasing shopping guides, summer activities, vacations, recipes, sun care tips, and everything that viewers need to know about summer. Starting in August it will also include segments about Back-to-School, with shopping guides, and tips to get back into a routine, including guest interviews, deals, and the latest products.
A Celebrar El Verano (Summer Fun) collection in Canela Kids will feature a selection of the best children and family programming of the summer, including the new Ryan’s World, A Celebrar El Verano, and Enchantimals. Also available will be Moonbug’s Franklin, Un Viaje Al Fondo Del Mar.
As summer comes to a close, the Back to School content will include shows like Ryan’s World new season of Learn & Play, Back To School with Franklin, and the brand new Storytime, a series of ten original stories about self-esteem and emotions that will stream every night at 7pm on Canela Kids.
