La Educación en México
Canal Once announced the premiere of La Educación en México, a new series that introduces seven documentaries which examine the evolution of education in Mexico.Available on its international signal starting on Wednesday, July 30 (6:30pm) La Educación en México is hosted by actor Mauricio Isaac and explores the history of education in México, delving into the struggles, challenges, milestones and successes to bring quality education programs and services to the country.Issac will introduce a number of breakthroughs in the system, including the creation of the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education, the federal government agency overseeing the development and implementation of the national education policy and school standards in Mexico; the founding of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a public research university in Mexico City, that is the largest in Latin America and the oldest in the continent; the formation of Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN), one of the largest public universities in Mexico; and the literacy campaign launched by Mexican politician Jaime Torres Bodet.La Educación en México will also include interviews with such specialists as Pilar Gonzalbo, Josefina Zoraida Vázquez, Olac Fuentes Molinar and Christian Duverger, who hold a lively discussion about the challenges that still need to be met in developing the educational system to the next level.
