Buena Vista Original Productions announced its new original production Femicidios, fiction series based on true cases of gender violence, with a plot axis centered on stories of women who were victims.

Buena Vista Original Productions, the brand for all the company’s general entertainment productions, replacing Disney Media Distribution Latin America for its general entertainment productions, concentrates big hits such as El Secreto de Selena, Monzón, Santa Evita and now adds Femicidios, expected to reach the screens of Latin America in 2021.

The episodes are produced and shot in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, where in each country they are developing ten of the most resounding cases occurred, through four production companies: Polka in Argentina, the larges fiction production company in the country and also responsible for the original idea; Vista Producciones from Colombia, production company and TV commercializer with a great path in production of series, telenovelas, and realities; BTF Media from Mexico, audiovisual content production company comprised by a multidisciplinary and plurifocused group directed by several talents and specialists in the areas of communication and arts; and the production company Cinefilm from Brazil, independent company that creates different contents for TV and is made up of professionals with vast experience in the audiovisual market.

Each episode is told from the point of view of the victim, who presents in first person her case, reveals the peculiarities of the society where it happened and the characteristics of the local judicial system, seeking to speak out and reveal details of the situation she was immersed in.

Soon, the cast that will bring the characters of this production to life will be announced.
