Blim: We do not rule out alliances to host content from other TV stations

Maribel Ramos-Weiner| 11 de agosto de 2016

Blim is an OTT and VOD content platform whose business vision is not to only have content from Televisa, but from all TV stations in Latin America, including the new TV networks that will appear in Mexico next year, expressed to PRODU Carlos Sandoval, general director of Blim. He also mentioned that regarding implementations, they will test all possible solutions for effective monetization of contents. Sandoval highlighted that one of the main goals for the productions they will generate for the platform is to apply new and sophisticated technological applications —such as the Login case—: “To do things that are technologically more complex will be the seal, that is, make our lives more complicated and triple the amount of work, finding solutions to compete with international content.”He pointed out that Grupo Televisa has many screens for which they must implement tailor-made strategies: “We want to maximize content monetization, we are going to test a lot of monetization models. There will be series that are going to be launched on the platform and won’t be seen on open TV until one year later. There will be exclusive and joint content. There is nothing established and no rules regarding consumption of OTT and VOD.”He said that in the next eight months more series will be launched, which will have 13, 26, 40, 65 and 80 episodes, with different topics for all kinds of audiences, and he talked about other contents and insisted on possible future alliances.
