Rafael Mercadante and Cynthia Rodríguez will host the show
Azteca America has announced the launch of Quiero ser grupero, the networks first music reality show in the Mexican region. The program is set to start Monday June 25 at 8pm with hosts of Rafael Mercadante and Cynthia Rodríguez. The program will surround itself around Mexican artist groups hoping to win the hearts of the public in that first phase of the show. Once the public votes for their favorite groups, the judges will decide on who gets to pass on the second phase. Sylvia del Valle, La Bronca, with more than 20 years of experience in the radio world; and José Luis Terrazas, pioneer in the music from northern Mexico and leader of the Durango group Montez will form the judges along with one invited guest weekly. The winning band will receive an exclusive contract with Azteca Music, and will also be awarded the production and distribution of their first album at a professional level.
