Javier Nuche, general director of Atresmedia Internacional
Atresmedia Internacional took 2017 as the year to grow the distribution of their signals in US Hispanic.
“This year was especially important for the Hispanic market in the US was our strategic focus. Last year we centered on the Mexican market with ¡HOLA! TV where we grew a great deal and this year the idea was to grow in the Hispanic market. It has been a very positive year adding a million and a half subscribers to our three signals” expressed enthusiastically Javier Nuche, general director at Atresmedia Internacional.
He mentioned that only ¡HOLA! TV will close the year with 650,000 more subscribers in the US.
When consulted on OTT, he highlighted that he observes two trends: on one hand, consolidated operators such as Dish launching Sling TV and DIRECTV with DIRECTV Now and on the other hand, independent platforms such as YipTV and Fubo. “We are in everything that appears to contribute value and not lose any growth window that could appear through OTT” he ended.
