Carlo Boserman de Veralia, Epigmenio Ibarra de Argos y Anton Reixa de Mex Filmanova
Argos Comunicación partnered with Spanish companies Mex Filmanova and Veralia to produce three series with themes relevant to the Spanish and Latin American audiences. The series include Las Campanas De Querétaro, a historical fiction about the Mexico of Emperor Maximilian; Cortar El Puente, is a miniseries centered on the Jesuit murders in El Salvador in 1989; and Lázaro, is a political thriller based on a real financial scandal.Epigmenio Ibarra, CEO of Argos, told PRODU the three series would be shot in Mexico, and the company is looking for funding at Mipcom. We think the co-production model has not been overly exploited in TV with independent producers, and this is the best opportunity of putting together such ambitious projects and have at least three legs: one in Europe, one in Mexico, and another one in the U.S., a market we know well and has the Mexican seal, which is what the U.S. audience likes, said Ibarra.
