Victoria Ruffo
For the first time in her acting career, Victoria Ruffo will play a leading role in an adaptation of an original story for Televisa with La Malquerida, produced by José Alberto Castro. It premieres in June in the 7pm block on Televisas Canal de las Estrellas. Its a new character for me, because Ive specialized in remakes. Im the queen of remakes and Ive been very successful, but this character is completely different. Its a story originally created for theater by Spanish writer Jacinto Benavente. It was later made into a movie and now brought to the TV screen. It deals with strong subjects and that makes it very attractive for the screen, said Ruffo. The actress said that including Corona De Lágrimas, this is the second project working with Castro, and its her first time sharing the screen with Ariadne Díaz, who plays her daughter.Ruffo said that, as is usual, Im going to cry a lot. Its been a year and two months since I last cried, so my character is ready to explode triggered by the troubles she will have with her daughter because of a man. The challenge is to be believable to make this novela a success. To me, the challenge is being a better actress in each episode.La Malquerida stars Christian Meier, Victoria Ruffo and Ariadne Díaz. Ximena Suárez is adapting the original 1913 play by Jacinto Benavente. It will have between 210 and 240 one-hour episodes.
