Anabella Sosa y Wally Rodríguez
Anabella Sosa, president of Upstairs and Luis Balaguer, CEO and founder of LatinWE, announced to PRODU the launch of the animated film Coati. The film follows the adventures of Coati, who along with other inhabitants of the Mexican fauna convey environmental messages and Latino culture and humor.”This is a project that was designed primarily for television but as we were adding talent to the team realized we had in our hands a project that deserved to be brought to the big screen,” Sosa told.Because of the wide trajectory of LatinWE, Upstairs invited Luis Balaguer and Sofia Vergara to participate in the project as executive producers, including Vergara lending her voice to Zeda, one of the characters of Coati.”When Anabella invited us to participate in the project, we found that it totally agrees with the message we want to launch as a company and how we want the public to perceive global Latinos,” Balaguer said.Other executive producers participating in Coati are José Nacif, Mexican producer and the Canadian investor Chris Zimmer. “We are a group of people who are coming together to make a Hispanic project but can be translated to the world,” Wally Rodriguez said, Upstairs partner. The team of professionals that are part of the production includes animators, illustrators and writers of Rio 2, The Book of Life, Despicable Me, The Age of Ice 5, Metegol and Song of the Sea, among others.
