The Google video platform has made the new technology that allows live streaming available to all subscribers.According to YouTube, this new tool has some interesting changes in store for subscribers like the possibility of uploading custom thumbnails, making annotations to link externally with online stores, changing the initial framing of a video to add a personalized image, and creating a playlist of related videos for their viewers.When the social network launched its streaming service, it was available only for accounts of the biggest users. YouTube then became available to users with at least 1,000 followers, and now the number has dropped to 100 followers, or just about everybody who is really interested.Meanwhile a study by eMarketer showed that YouTube grossed around $6 billion in advertising revenues last year. Of that income, close to 79 percent came from advertising placed on videos, of which 20.5 percent was exclusively in the United States.With these numbers, the most popular video website in the world took in 1.7 percent of all digital revenues, topping such giants as Twitter, AOL, LinkedIn, Facebook and all others. In the United States alone, YouTube earned around $1 billion last year, some 6.3 percent of all Google intake in 2013, no less than 59.7 percent more than in 2012.
