The distribution of opportunities are not the same in all sectors of society, including the advertising industry. This is what Elda Bravo, President and Founder of ACA Films maintains, regarding gender equality. “In 1984 when I started my career, there were few women in the industry. Today, although we have made progress, we are still not balanced and this is not exclusively in the U.S., it is a global fact, but in other countries, inequality is worse.” Initiatives such as the Women’s March, created and driven by women last January seeks to assert women’s role in society. “I decided to go to the march for the immigrants at risk, young people, and myself. After 40 years in this country, I became a U.S. citizen in 2016. I felt the march was my right and responsibility, given the situation we are going through with this new administration that is so conflictive. “She feels these actions help create balance in political power, as well as protect citizens’ rights and democracy. To offer opportunities, regardless of gender, is Bravo’s proposal for the industry to promote.
