Sisa: Lo importante es ver que la gente correcta gane las competencias

Verena Sisa Thompson, CSO of Conill, says that reaching her current position is the result of having in mind a clear direction of her career and very hard work, aspects that enabled her to progressively make the most of opportunities as they appeared. “I believe there is so much in life that is within your grasp. You just have to be able to see it and have the courage to take it”. The best advice she has received is “Take it one day at a time”, after considering that strategists are programmed to plan in advance and virtually “live in the future”. “Sometimes, the best path to success is to focus on the present. To take charge of the only thing in front of us. Sometimes, the best path to success is to focus on the present. To take charge for that single thing in front of us that frees us to face and succeed at challenges” she warns. In her opinion, women don´t have to win, such as at Cannes Lion, but to see that the right people are winning, regardless of their gender or ethnicity. “The top multicultural agencies are level-set as compared to our general market counterparts in terms of strategy, creativity, and execution. Keeping on the edge of culture and embracing change will ensure our continued success”.She is very grateful to work in an organization where female talent is fostered, recognized and rewarded. “As for the industry, I believe there is tons of work to be done in attracting diverse and talented people, but it all has to start with authenticity. If diversity –including gender diversity- becomes part of the value system in the industry, that will attract like-minded talent”.
