Tesoro Wabi
Wabi Productions recently made a short film for the Mexico City 48-Hour Film Project. The piece entitled Tesoro was directed by Mireya Gregorio and won a special mention for Best Director from the Association of Women in Cinema and Television during the awards gala in December 2017.Gregorio was born in Barcelona, Spain, where she studied film direction at the ESCAC. A year later she moved to Mexico City and there has distinguished herself as a Director of Commercials and short films that have won awards at multiple festivals. She specializes in storytelling, humor, and directing actors, while her client list includes such brands as Dove, Chevrolet, Discovery and PepsiCo.Tesoro is a 5-minute piece packed with suspense and guaranteed to surprise viewers with its outcome. The entire production was completed in 48 hours. The script was written by Gustavo Bracco, Thalia Vazquez, Michel Endara and Mireya Gregorio. The Executive Producers were Melissa Leon and Carlos Eichelmann; Antonio Romero was the Producer. The main characters in the story were played by Nancy Avila, Erick Vega, Israel Weeks, Antonio Rodriguez and Carlos de la Garza. Michael Endara was the Director’s Assistant. Photography was handled by STV Robles, art direction by Adriana Peña, editing by Magali Ocaña,, audio design by Oscar Samano, costumes and makeup by Ana Poveda. Set design was the work of Abraham Ancona, Paco Morales was the gaffer, Carlos Salas was soundman, Sergio Solís the Data Manager, Josue Alvarez the Camera Assistant, Jimena Sosa the Executive Production Coordinator, Teresa Quio was in charge of accounting, and Gregorio Santiago and Marisela Miranda were part of the staff.
