Álvarez forma parte del jurado en Craft
Creative quality in the Hispanic market has gradually increased, and that is proven by the awards the sector has won in international festivals, according to José Antonio Álvarez, Executive Producer at Harpoon Pictures. The Executive comments that the Hispanic industry has suffered a metamorphosis. “When I started working in advertising production in the Hispanic market, creative quality and budgets weren’t very high.” The great change and richness has come from the influence of creatives from other latitudes, that made the U.S. their home. He confesses loving the work Hispanic agencies have generated.“Although around 65-70% of the work we produce at Harpoon Pictures is for the general market, I feel the work we have produced for the Hispanic market is the best and the most interesting we have produced. Aside from this, working with the people in the Hispanic market is the best” he tells PRODU.This year he is part of the jury at the U.S.H. Idea Awards in the Craft category. “This is the first time I am part of a jury for an advertising award. For years I have participated as jury in the Directors Guild of America Awards. As juror, normally, you are exposed to works of great quality and for me, that has always been, on one hand, a great pleasure, and on the other, a great education.”
