El ícono del corazón indicará al botón "Me gusta"
Twitter replaced on November 3rd the “Favorites” button with a red heart icon that indicates “Like”. The company, based in San Francisco, stated that the previous button -represented by a star- was too confusing. Regular users of social networks will recognize “like” as Facebook language and the heart symbol as a characteristic symbol of Instagram. Akarshan Kumar, Twitter’s Product Manager, explained in his blog that they would call it “Like”.Different social networks have copied elements from others in the past. In 2004 Facebook implemented the section Trending, that belongs to Twitter. Facebook recently released its Place Tips, considered by some as an answer to Snapchat’s Live Stories. Kumar explained that the tests revealed that people loved the heart and that the “Like” button has been very popular on Periscope, a company’s application to broadcast live video. “We love bringing it to Twitter and Vine. We are building a global language for our community” he added. Marketing executives are awaiting to see how their tweets perform and if the new button helps them generate greater engagement. The audience’s reaction has been varied and many users have expressed their rejection to the change.
