Twitter kicked off Moments, an editorial selection of relevant content for users which, for now is only being rolled out to users in the US.The tab will offer the day´s top news on the microblogging network, chosen by an editorial team based in Twitter New York, in the aim to help users not miss the most outstanding content, whether it´s news, sports or entertainment. The curators will dive into hundreds of millions of tweets posted every day to offer packages of stories made up of text, images, videos and animated gifs. “We know finding these only-on-Twitter moments can be a challenge, especially if you havent followed certain accounts. But it doesnt have to be. Moments helps you find the best of Twitter as easily as tapping an icon regardless of who you follow” explained the company on its official blog. Moments appears when Twitter officially announced the appointment of founder Jack Dorsey as chief executive. Among Dorsey´s goals are making the use of Twitter more appealing for new users or those who have used it and left, feeling disengaged. This tool is not the tech industry´s first attempt to enter in the territory of content edition: Facebook announced this year Instant Articles, a project to publish media articles directly on the social network. The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Guardian are collaborating in the endeavor.
