Toyota and Disney announced a joint project that will have the mid-size Highlander SUV sharing top billing with the Muppets to celebrate the upcoming launch of the new Toyota Highlander and premiere the new Muppets adventure, Muppets Most Wanted, to screen in movie theaters starting March 21, 2014.The ad campaign developed by Saatchi & Saatchi LA, Conill and 360i, will show the vehicles features, functionality and its unboring personality, together with the Muppets and Terry Crews, the star of the FOX Golden Globe-winning series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The 60-second short entitled Joyride has already aired during the 48th Super Bowl early this month. “We all grew up with Kermit and the Muppets, and that makes Toyota’s collaboration with Disney very special for us” said Jack Hollis, VP of Toyota Division Marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “Toyota vehicles are built to last and can even endure the most boisterous Muppets, a former NFL player as well as a center console full of chickens”.”We’re excited to work with Toyota for the first time” said Don Gross, VP of promotions at The Walt Disney Studios. “The Muppets’ classic mix of high energy and heart matches perfectly with Toyota’s spirit of adventure, and Kermit, Gonzo and the whole gang look forward to many zany road trips”.Besides the commercial, the Muppets gang provided real-time updates while traveling to the game in their Toyota Highlander on February 2.
