Tough economic times don’t keep millennials away from restaurants

Patricia Molina| 6 de febrero de 2014

Young Hispanic adults have been hit hard by the difficult economic times. The study of millennials by the Tr3s network showed that they are frugal and smart with their money. They like to go have a coffee because it’s an economical way to meet up with friends. But the question often asked is: Do they go to restaurants too?Tr3s recently analyzed Experian Simmons data to find out more about the habits of young Hispanic adults with regard to casual dining, and found that they definitely do not turn their backs on restaurants. In fact, they ate out significantly more in 2013 than in 2012.Among the latest finds of Tr3s in adult millennials was that dining out at informal restaurants is a trend on the rise. Every three out of four adult Hispanic Millennials ate with their families at informal restaurants in 2013.For its part, members of this generation mostly go out to dinner with their families, but for lunch, they go to restaurants with friends and workmates.Having breakfast out is also common among Hispanics. In fact, some casual restaurants preferred by Hispanics specialize in breakfasts. Denny’s and IHOP, both known for their tempting offers and large menus, are among Hispanic families’ five favorite eateries for the first meal of the day.
