Monfort: Abrimos a nuestros directores la posibilidad de filmar en una gran diversidad de países
Managing Director at Garage Films, Toni Monfort talked to PRODU about the beginning of his production house, its strengths in the international market and their challenges for 2015 closure. The firm was established 14 years ago in Spain. “The name comes from the experiences of the brothers Oriol and Albert Uría, who played making movies in their garage and later grew within the advertising industry” Monfort said. Currently they have an important international directors roster and offices in several parts of the world. “Our main competitive edge is attracting talent in the different markets we operate. We give our directors the opportunity to film in a great diversity of countries, and this feeds back their audiovisual creativity and is a great gain for them, and therefore for the movies we produce” he explained. For Monfort, brands increasingly have cross-cutting organizations for many countries. “Theyre looking to us for a production house that can offer them service anywhere, insuring production experience at the best cost. Our organization is built that way, with documentation, reproduction and postproduction teams both sides the Atlantic and very experienced in working online. You can leave work at night, go to bed and receive it done next morning” he said. For the last quarter of the year their main feat is to enjoy doing what they most likes for the U.S. Hispanic market and producing a new short film that will be released soon.
