This summer Coca-Cola gets the anti-obesity ball rolling

El programa Get the ball rolling comenzará el 21 de junio hasta el 2 de septiembre

The Coca-Cola Company with its worldwide commitment to well-being, is preparing a summer of sports and fun physical activities that will lead its participants to a more active lifestyle. In the fight against obesity it is launching a program dubbed Get the ball rolling.Stuart Kronauge, general manager of sparkling beverages at Coca-Cola for North America, said “summer is a great time of year for people to come together to enjoy activities and sports that make them happy. We’re taking programs and events to which we have access and making sure that people who participate in them rediscover the joy and fun of being active.”The company has a long tradition of supporting programs of physical activity in the United States. In 2012, Coca-Cola and its foundation provided more than $13 million to help communities stay active and healthy.In 2013 it continues these efforts with Get the ball rolling, which launches on June 21, the first day of summer, and goes on until Labor Day on Sept. 2, with events open to millions of people across the United States.The initiative of combating obesity and being part of the solution means Coca-Cola will “offer low- or no-calorie beverage options in every market, provide transparent nutrition information, featuring calories on the front of all of our packages, help get people moving by supporting physical activity programs in every country where we do business, and market responsibly, including no advertising to children under 12 anywhere in the world” as was announced by Muhtar Kent, president and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.
