The sixth edition of Hispanicize began yesterday with the launching of the TECLA Awards, first award to reward the most outstanding personalities in the marketing, advertising, blog and social network industries within the Hispanic community in the US.The ceremony, held in the terrace of the J W Marriot Marquis, was presented by Karli Henríquez, TV and radio presenter with great influence among the Hispanic audience. During the evening 25 categories were awarded, out of which 20 were focused on Latin bloggers and micro-blogging, and five acknowledged the effort of agencies and brands in the multicultural market.Among the award-winners were: the multicultural agency ALMA as best agency in Hispanic social networks; Univisión’s El Gordo y la Flaca, in the category of Best Latin News Website; the magazine Cosmopolitan, as best Facebook page; Laura Termini of Chicanol, Best Blogger in Spanish; Telemundo with Latin Billboard as Best TV or cable channel on social networks; and Ismael Cala as Best Journalist on Social Media, among others.To close the gala, they presented the Venezuelan duo Chino y Nacho who have positioned themselves on the mecca of Latin music internationally, achieving awards such as the Latin Grammy, Texas Latin Awards, four Lo Nuestro prizes, one Premio Juventud, nine Pepsi Awards, and three Latin Billboard.
