Walmart introduced its application for the Apple Watch. This move suggests it will incorporate more big advertisers and from different areas other than the mobile device.This app is an extension of the one that iPhone has and allow users to check their grocery list and order products without having to use their phone. The presence of Walmart grants the Apple Watch an important positioning. “Although the debate on the adoption scale of usable technological devices, such as watches, continues, there is no doubt they are here to stay”, declared Tom Farrel, Marketing Director at Swre. “Walmart is strengthening its identity as innovators of the mobile market. This is a perfect example of intelligent design that kept in mind the device it was being made for”. Walmart shows with this action how technologies and devices have become part of basic tasks such as the grocery list and are in buying environments. Salespeople and stores need to keep the relevance in this regard for their consumers. “Salespeople must know continuously what is going on in the digital world and must know where their consumers are”, said Rebecca Roose, Senior Manager of Product Marketing in My Web Grocer. “It makes no sense to react to each new technology, but it is necessary to have a strategy on technology that allows them to reach their business goals”.
