Michael Plater, presidente de la universidad de Strayer
Strayer University, a leading institute of higher education for working adults, was the education sponsor of Hispanicize 2014, the biggest annual event of trendsetting Latinos in social media, entertainment and innovation across several industries. Now in its fifth year, Hispanicize brought together more than 1,700 newsmakers who took part in sessions on professional development.Besides being education sponsor for the event, Strayer University was the main supporter of the Latino Startup of the Year competition. Early this year, the Latino Startup Alliance (LSA) and Hispanicize 2014 launched a national campaign to find Americas best Latino entrepreneurs. To enter the competition, startups had to submit a YouTube video pitch about their product or service, and what their idea of success would look like in the future. The three finalists were flown to Hispanicize where they gave a final pitch to a panel of judges that included Cristina Henley, Strayers public relations director. We are thrilled to partner with the Hispanic community by being involved in supporting Hispanicize and helping to launch another new dynamic Latino business, said Dr. Michael Plater, president of Strayer University. Hispanicize itself was a startup several years ago, and we are honored to connect with the entrepreneurial spirit of the event organizers while, at the same time, sharing our expertise in business and marketing that we use to educate our working adult students every day.
