The popularity of different social networks reveals a need consumers have to be increasingly more informed about everything that is going on, no matter where they are. That is what a study by the firm Global Web Index (GWI) reflected about the latest trends of use of the different platforms, which revealed the important growth of mobile Internet, as well as the amount of time users invest in social networks.According to the study, which was based on the answers of 47.622 online adults, located in different countries in America, Europe and Asia, those interviewed were connected 1.99 hours from a mobile device each day during the first quarter of 2015, compared to the 1.24 hours in 2012.Regarding the amount of time invested in social media, the average was 1.69 hours. Users have a lot to see on these platforms: the report indicates that each one handles 5.39 accounts on social networks, although they are only active in 2.75 of them.According to the study, Pinterest 97%, Tumblr 95% and Instagram 47% were the social media that grew the fastest in active users in 2014, leaving LinkedIn 39%, Youtube 13% and Twitter 8% in the following places. Whereas Facebook faced a 9% drop.The challenge for the brands is to search in the measurings and data generated by these behaviors so they can determine when and in which platforms their interest audiences are in.
