Simon Bross en Webinar
Film, Theater and TV Director and Producer Simon Bross, Founder of García Bross, was the first guest on the Face to Face Webinar: De Camino al Innovation Summit 2021 FIAP+PRODU. During the broadcast he noted that “nothing is going to be normal again, but we can create content and get used to the relevant protocols. And for now there can be no kisses or contact scenes.” “Life and health are more important than production. In the new normal, we must get used to protocols that will surely add costs, but protecting people’s health is not a minor consideration. I also think that when all this is over, we’ll have to produce with less, but there is going to be production for everyone. We must pursue good ideas even though we don’t earn as much profit as before,” he said. The safety protocols being developed for when shootings are reactivated in Mexico include the following: entirely disinfecting the set and offscreen areas, having a sanitizing arch for entering and leaving, the use of N95 masks that will be provided to everyone along with face masks, checking everyone’s temperature, sanitizing shoes, washing hands after every interaction with objects and using gel constantly. The entrance of cast and crew on the set must be gradual, with everyone maintaining an adequate distance one from the other. Crews must also be offered safe transportation with the number of vehicles necessary for people to maintain their social distancing. The production company is also helping crew members continue to make a decent living under today’s difficult circumstances. One way is by helping them find transportation and moving jobs with scenery builders. And with the help of doctors they have also started making face masks, some of which are donated to medical institutions while the rest are sold to the general public. The money made is for the team. “We are seeing what we can do from where we are,” Bross said.
