Sergio Alcocer, Founder of Rest of the World, was interviewed in the APC Chat by Audrey Ponzio, Founder of APC Collective, during the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals (SXSW) celebrated in Texas in March. “The best advertising is the one that comes from culture or, even better, helps create and shape culture” he said. Alcocer says that the digital age opens up an amazing world for creativity. “The great opportunity for social networks and digital platforms, and what is to come, is that they are giving people like me more places where they can create, where to tell stories, where to be able to talk in favor of brands, more platforms to show your work if you are a young Writer or Designer, or a young Director or Producer, and even the possibility to create your own platform.”According to Alcocer, there is a new world out there. “The advertising industry is currently undergoing a transformation and it is a very pressing transformation, it is dangerous. Global agencies have trouble with technology, with the way people consume media, even with the reliability crisis in institutions and brands” he said.
