Las causas seleccionadas para recibir el donativo de Samsung son St. Jude's y The Humane Society
American show host Ellen DeGeneres announced on her TV program that the South Korean company Samsung will donate a dollar for every retweet of the selfie taken by actor Bradley Cooper of himself, Ellen and a crowd of A-list Hollywood celebs during the Oscars ceremony early this month. The popular photo, up to now retweeted more than any in Twitter history, has had 3 million retweets and counting, for which Samsung will donate a total of $3 million to a couple of causes the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and The Humane Society which is to say $1.5 million each. When the show host made the announcement on her program, and thanks to the sponsorship of Samsung on the ABC network, DeGeneres also announced she would give everyone in the audience a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the kind of smartphone used to take the famous selfie.Samsung was also one of the sponsors of the Oscars ceremony, but had no idea that DeGeneres, the host of the Academy Awards gala, would have one of their mobile devices take a photo that would shatter all previous records on Twitter. We were delighted to see Ellen organically incorporate the device into the selfie moment that had everyone talking” Samsung said.
