Ronald McDonald House Charities, or RMHC, in the Philadelphia region, together with McDonalds owner/operators are looking for qualified candidates to compete for scholarships. These will be awarded to 55 students and will be worth from $1,000 to $5,000 each.The four programs RMHC offers are: RMHC Scholars Scholarship for youths in their last year of high school, the RMHC/African American Future Achievers Scholarship for African-American high school seniors, the RMHC/Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources for Latino high school seniors, and the RMHC/Asian Students Increasing Achievement for Asian high school seniors. “RMHC Scholarship winners are remarkable students who excel academically while taking on youth leadership roles and volunteering in their local communities” said Bill Roberson, president of RMHC of the Philadelphia Region, Inc. and a McDonald’s owner/operator. “Each year we are proud to recognize their accomplishments and to help make a college education a reality for these outstanding young role models”.Everyone interested in applying can do so online up to Jan. 21 of next year. At the same time candidates must present a high school transcript, a letter of recommendation and a written statement about their background and their work in the community.
