Sprint announced the appointment of Roger Solé in a double role: senior VP for the Hispanic Market and senior VP of Innovation. The executive will report directly to the president and executive director, Marcelo Claure. Solé will assume the position of a new division created to direct all the Hispanic business functions. Sprint sees the Hispanic market as one of the segments of biggest growth in the US population and there is where he wishes to increase his leadership.Sprint is committed to connecting and providing wireless services to the Hispanic consumer. Attracting first class talent, such as Roger, to lead this new division, reflects our commitment with effort. This is a very important position for Sprint and I think we have hired the right person for the position, said Claure.Solé will also take the position of president of Sprint Puerto Rico. All the Puerto Rico business functions will report to Solé and Puerto Rico will be the corporation´s Latin center of creativity and innovation.Solé´s leadership in Innovation will be centered in the creation of products and services that will allow Sprint to offer a unique and different proposal. His responsibilities include Pinsight Media, a Sprint division that specializes in mobile advertising, and Sprint Accelerator, a mentors program for new businesses in the healthcare industry. “Roger is known as one of the main innovators of the industry, added Claure. “He has a proven history with TIM and the Brazilian operator of Telefonica, Vivo”.
