Arreaza: Este tipo de proyecto puede hacer que Venezuela destaque artísticamente
The Venezuelan director from Noumena production house, Daniel “Rino” Arreaza is producing his first feature film: Ivana. It’s a totally independent film, so he is seeking funding through crowfunding. “Ivana is a story that has been in my mind for two years. It’s about the characters involved in a scam called La Vuelta that occurred in Venezuela, where a woman undercovered as a flamenco dancer is commissioned to kill one of those men” Arreaza explained. “The movie criticizes subtly the country’s situation in a cinematographic and humorous way. There are very funny moments that say about how little life is valued, the way how corruption fills everything in Venezuela. It’s not a film that intends to denounce, but it shows what we all live and the way in which values have been lost in that sense.” The filmmaker is open to brands appearance in his movie, as long as they respect his independent idea of the film which seeks to avoid the industry influence. “Everyone has joined the project by heart and we’ve already talked to several international festivals to show it.” This type of project can make Venezuela stand out artistically and will encourage others to do independent cinema. There is an independent movie movement in the country, but it should be much stronger” he added. “I lived in Argentina and return to a country in crisis, I believe this is the moment to show our identity to the world.”
