Montreuil: Tuvimos el honor de abrir el festival de cine de L.A. y la respuesta fue increíble
Ricardo de Montreuil, Director at Altered.LA, shared in an exclusive interview that he is extremely happy over the release of his film, Lowriders, on May 12th. The trailer came out on Thursday January 26th. It is his first film in English and he had the huge opportunity to work with Demián Bichir and Eva Longoria. “I am very grateful for this opportunity, I can’t wait to see the reaction of the audience” he said. “Lowriders is a type of film that Hollywood has rarely dared to make, and that has all the support of Universal. It tells the story of an American-Latina family, that lives in L.A. For me it was very important to humanize Latinos in this country because it is a movie for the general market, and at the same time, manage for it to be a universal story everyone can connect with. It is also a tribute to the city, its culture, its people and its art in the streets” he added. “We had the honor of opening the L.A. Movie Festival and the response was amazing.”For Montreuil, the closing of 2016 and start of 2017 have been full of good news and great projects. He directed two commercials for Camry Toyota, for the Hispanic market, together with C-Com Group. “I was very happy with the creativity and I think the spots are well crafted. I am happy to know they will be in the festival circuit” he expressed. Another of his projects was for Car2Go through their agency Bakery in Austin, TX, aimed at the general U.S. market. He also worked with Zubi Advertising in an awareness-raising campaign on breast cancer. “This was a very pretty collaboration with the agency and the Mexican actress Fernanda Romero” he concluded.
