Renée Tovar, directora sénior de Arte de SPOTDLY
For Renée Tovar, Senior Art Director at SPOTDLY, one of the important elements of her career is developing projects that add to the community. With vast experience in the industry, this Venezuelan confessed that what attracted her to the current agency is their work philosophy regarding digital and technology, in which “graphic design is not a static thing” and also “the good projects they had on the table.” One of the works she has led was the general market campaign for the Urban Initiative foundation, which earned her a HERMES Creative Award. “The foundation develops sports programs for children from low-income families, and in this case, we made an audiovisual piece. We are now on the second piece that aim to raise resources for the organization and help the growth of the program.”Although the agency doesn’t have a Hispanic division, Tovar highlights that it isn’t a limitation for venturing into multicultural projects, such as soccer activations for Coca-Cola for Hispanic audiences. “The things is to find that connection, for example, when you speak of multicultural, this means connecting with that culture and exalting the Latino pride. When making pieces, we seek that connection between those cultural roots, but in an American way.”Her personal projects include Tourist Teen, a platform that helps high school kids to raise funds to go to college. “In summer, the first stage will come out for Chicago and then it will be taken to other cities.”
