Toro: Goya Foods siempre ha sido más que una compañía de alimentos
Goya Foods, the biggest Hispanic-owned food company in the U.S. donated 10 million pounds of food to Catholic Charities of Boston, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Puerto Rican Festival in Massachusetts. “We feel honored to be able to donate foods to Catholic Charities, in acknowledgement of the 50th anniversary of the Festival and their efforts to bring to the community the delicious Puerto Rican Culture” said Rafael Toro, Public Relations Director at Goya Foods. “We always strive to help those who need it the most and encourage others to do the same.”The donation was made last Thursday July 27th, at the Santa Cruz Cathedral in Boston. The food will go directly to Catholic Charities food banks in the South end of the city, Somerville and Dorchester, Massachusetts, which serves around 600 people per day from Monday to Friday. “Goya is making it possible for our team and volunteers to help provide an important security net for families in our community” said Deborah Kincade Rambo, President of Catholic Charities of Boston. The donation is part of the campaign Goya Gives, a nation-wide initiative, committed with supporting local communities through social causes. Goya has donated millions of food pounds to organizations worldwide and continues supporting more than 250 organizations, events and cultural institutions.
