The Hispanic agency ALMA, launched last July 17th, during the transmission of the Juventud awards, their most recent spot for McDonald’s entitled Gallinero. The humor-filled commercial, captures the current reality of Hispanic families, and how each generation interacts with technology.”We are always in search of Hispanic insights that the time may be associated with current insights, hence the idea of this commercial, which was a big challenge because with so many smartphones and text messaging, we had to avoid it look like a commercial of technology,” Jorge Murillo, ALMAs creative director, commented to PRODU.Meanwhile, Gabriel Ferrer, senior copywriter, also commented how they developed funny situations, through popular text messaging icons. “Besides the humor, icons let us capture that language rather than English, that older generations must learn when facing technology, as it is this visual way of talk.”According to Gabriel Reyes, senior art director, the main objective of the agency and the brand is to have a real history. “We consider comedy important but we have to tell something that people can identify more with the brand,” he concluded.
