As part of an association between Twitter and Bloomberg to air certain TV programs, both announced that they will air the 2016 U.S. election debates live. Starting Monday September 26th, Twitter will air the Bloomberg TV broadcast of the U.S. presidential and vice presidential candidate debates. The streaming includes the broadcast of special editions of “With All Due Respect” hosted by the editors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, as well as the participation of political talents, experts and reporters from Bloomberg. “We are thrilled to extend our agreement with Twitter to include the coverage of the presidential debates during the U.S. elections” said Justin B. Smith, CEO at Bloomberg Media. “Twitter is the place where the 2016 presidential elections happen day to day” said Anthony Noto, Financial Director at Twitter. “The broadcast of the debates starts with live comments and the conversation on Twitter, creating a single screen experience in the middle of the action.” The tweets sent during the first debates of the democratic and the republican party primary elections received more than one billion impressions, more than half were posted by young people under 25. The stream will be available worldwide on debates.twitter.com, on Twitter Moments or @bpolitics. After the first presidential debate on September 26th, the next ones will be the vice presidential debate on Tuesday October 4th, the second presidential debate on October 9th and the third on Wednesday 19th.
