Pitaya wraps up 2023 as leading Spanish-language podcast network

As 2023 comes to a close, Pitaya Entertainment is now a clear leader in Spanish-language podcasting, with its network of shows achieving record ad revenues and generating a remarkable 400 million streams just this year. Pitaya’s unprecedented success is built around talk shows featuring hugely popular personalities with combined social media followings of over 190 million people. Pitaya’s top podcasts include La Entrevista, a revealing celebrity interview show hosted by beloved radio and TV legend Yordi Rosado, and De Todo un Mucho, co-hosted by Rosado and the award winning actress and producer Martha Higareda. La Entrevista and De Todo un Mucho regularly rank among the top podcasts in Mexico on Spotify and are always among the most streamed weekly Spanish language podcasts in the U.S.Pitaya’s roster also boasts Mexico’s best-known female journalist, Adela Micha, who joined the network earlier this year with her daily morning news show Me Lo Dijo Adela, and her two incredibly popular in-depth interview shows, Solo con Adela and Saga Live. Two other major additions to Pitaya’s roster in 2023 were Chisme No Like, the most important Spanish-language entertainment news program, hosted by Elisa Beristain and Javier Ceriani, and El Rincón de los Errores, the popular self-help podcast hosted by renowned actress Marimar Vega and psychologist Efrén Martínez. As a result of the massive reach of Pitaya’s brand friendly shows, its high-profile hosts and the breadth of Pitaya’s programs, the company has led the way in monetizing Spanish language podcast content, particularly in the U.S. where podcast advertising to the Latino consumer has lagged. Pitaya was the first podcast network in the U.S. to attract major ads for Spanish language content from important general market brands, including Starbucks, AT&T, Target, Toyota, Dove, Ashley Furniture, TurboTax, and Western Union, to name a few. In Mexico, sponsors have included Amazon Mexico, Liverpool, Sony Music, Little Caesars, and Cuervo. 2023 also saw Pitaya’s first ever limited series, En Boca Cerrada, a joint production with Uforia about the Gloria Trevi/Sergio Andrade scandal. It was the highest-charting Spanish-language podcast in the U.S. this year and #1 on Spotify’s top podcast chart in Mexico. “2023 has been a monumental year of growth for Pitaya — our best year so far,” said Jordi Oliveres, co-founder and general manager of Pitaya Entertainment. “We couldn’t be more excited about what we have in store for 2024.”
