The International Cannes Lions Creativity Festival announced a record number of entries for its 2015 edition. In total, 40,133 pieces will participate in the 21 categories. The categories which have seen bigger increase regarding entries compared to the festival in 2014 are Creative Effectiveness, which duplicated the number of pieces, reaching 160, followed by Lions Health with a 30% increase, then Branded Content & Entertainment (18%), Film (8%) and Film Craft (6%). The new category Lion Glass reached 166 pieces.Philip Thomas, CEO of the festival, stated that the number of entries shows “an industry that believes in the power of creativity for businesses and for brands. The Lions are an indicator of excellence and it is exciting to see marketers globally pushing themselves and their agency partners to produce truly outstanding work, and having the confidence to bring it to Cannes Lions to compete on the world stage.”
