Pepsi fields the world’s 19 best soccer players to power its global Live for now campaign

As part of its global Live for now campaign, which spurs soccer fans to live for the moment, Pepsi unveiled its new soccer squad, made up of 19 of the best players from the five continents and close to 20 countries, including Messi, Aguello and Mexico’s Oribe Peralta.The names were published on the players’ own social network pages as the global launch kicked off a series of year-long activities driving Pepsi’s soccer-enshrined campaign.The media strategy consists of a TV spot plus pictures of the players on themed packs, points of sale, outdoor, as well as interactive experiences in music, art and digital.“Pepsi has had a tremendous relationship with football, going back nearly 15 years. For this, our latest incarnation, we’ve brought together our most impressive Pepsi football roster yet, comprised of players who truly embody our brand spirit…Our players know how to live for the moment, and throughout the year we’ll be collaborating with them to bring our fans exciting and engaging content, products and experiences,” said Kristin Patrick, global chief marketing officer for the PepsiCo Global Beverages Group.The players providing celeb status to the strategy are Leo Messi, Sergio Aguero, Jack Wilshere, David Luiz, Robin Van Persie, Sergio Ramos, Oribe Peralta, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Clint Dempsey, Tarik Elyounoussi, Maynor Figueroa, Mario Gomez, Vincent Kompany, Kemar Lawrence, Victor Moses, Peter Osaze Odemwingie, Andriy Pyatov, Mohamed Salah and Gylfi Por Sigurosson.
