24% de los encuestados probablemente usaría o compraría productos de VR

A study by Nielsen’s Media Lab, that surveyed 8.000 consumers online, revealed that many could be more interested in virtual reality than what was thought. The poll showed that 24% of the surveyed would probably use or buy this technology in the next year. And although 20% said they hadn´t planned to test it, they expressed greater interest after learning a bit more about virtual reality. Also, during the study, Nielsen showed the people they surveyed some videos that are publicly available on the potential applications of VR – games, health and art-, and with content created by manufacturers of VR devices, news channels and independent people on YouTube. It revealed that after 2 minutes of exposure to this content, more than 50% felt more willing to buy or use VR. Another interesting factor the study revealed is that it shows what kind of consumer would be interested in virtual reality. “Advertisers would be pleased to know it is ‘triple A’ consumers, this is, not only are they first users of new products and services but people who defend the brands they use and love” said the Director at Nielsen’s Media Lab, Harry Brisson. “They also appreciate Premium products and services, for which they are willing to pay Premium prices” he added. For Nielsen, this data could be crucial for all the actors related with VR who seek to reach and attract the best consumers, especially when this technology is expected to grow in adoption and application in the future.
