The New York Festival, with its prestigious prizes for advertising excellence, invites daring young people between ages 18 and 25 to be a part of the 1st annual Torch Awards.This unique competition presents a creative challenge to the young participants theyre asked to develop a promotional campaign for a non-profit organization, and if their work is chosen as a finalist, they get the chance to present it to some of the biggest and best-known international agencies.The launch of the Torch Awards allows New York Festivals to continue our commitment to the development and promotion of the next generation of creatives said Michael ORourke, president of New York Festivals, and the opportunity to cultivate the worlds best talent and connect the worlds best creatives of today and tomorrow.There is no entry fee to pay for taking part in the Torch Awards. Teams of from two to four creatives can pitch a project for a non-profit called Road Recovery. Five finalist teams will be invited to New York to polish their projects during an intensive work session with a real pro of a mentor, then go on to pitch their finished work to a jury made up of members of the Executive Jury of NYF and representatives of Road Recovery.The deadline for presenting entries is March 18, and the finalists will be announced on March 31.
