Mondelez raises the bet of digital ads

La conversión de sus anuncios digitales en las compras impulsará las ventas por internet

Mondelez International announced that it will carry out its electronic commerce operations at a global scale, after the success they had with the pilot in Europe. The company works on turning ads in digital media in 25 countries into shoppable ads with the “buy now” button. The goal of the brand is to duplicate online incomes by conducting its Internet sales with interactive ads that are enabled through Walmart and Amazon.While electronic commerce is booming, online sales of food articles face an uphill battle. 90% of consumer packaged goods are still purchased in stores.Amidst doubts, Mondelez finds itself in a unique position. The conversion of digital ads in purchases will boost internet sales. Last year Mondelez International signed a global agreement with Google in the aim to boost its digital strategy, for which it allocated 10 % of its advertising budget to online videos. According to the multinational, currently 58 % of consumers of different Mondelez products resort to digital platforms such as YouTube every day, where they carry out their daily media consumption.
