Mayer: Index será un producto crítico para Yahoo, que orientará a la compañía hacia la investigación
Yahoo hired the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. to advise them regarding the organization’s restructuring. Their job will be to help them decide which units to shutter, which to sell and which to invest more in. This initiative is part of an effort by Marisa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, to consolidate the company’s turnaround and improve its performance, since their shares have fallen more than 30% during 2015. On the other hand, Mayer asked her top executives to make three- to five-year commitments to Yahoo, after the several major departures they experienced recently. The team is focused on the development of Project Index, which, according to Mayer, will be an indispensable guide in the life of any consumer. The project is under the responsibility of Enrique Muñoz Torres, Yahoo Search Head. Index was expected to be available in 2015, but the launch has been postponed for next year. “Index will be a critical product for Yahoo, orienting the company towards research in a more significant way” commented Mayer.
