Candela: Básicamente los dos mundos me gustan, pero hoy escogí estar del lado fotográfico y amo lo que hago
Mauricio Candelas passion for photography started with his work in advertising as a creative director. After more than 10 years as associate creative director on the team at Zubi Advertising, Candela made the leap to go independent as a professional photographer, and one year ago opened his own studio in Miami.Of Colombian origin and based in Miami, Candela spoke with PRODU about his passion that is now his business, and his transition from advertising to photography, a decision that in this short time has brought him immense satisfaction.Being an independent photographer has been a great experience. Its worth noting that my 19-year career in advertising was not in vain, because Ive applied everything I learned to my new career Candela said. Having had the experience of learning the inner workings of an agency, and above all the way clients think, has been so much help in managing each project as a photographer. This year Candela has had the opportunity to work with such name brands as Chase for Zubi, takemefishing.org for Lopez Negrete, Shell for Iris, Sony for COD, Hersheys for Y&R Miami, and more. For me, every campaign is a challenge sometimes its the casting, at others its the art of the photo, at times its the budget, whatever, youve always got to give 100 percent of yourself, and thats why were here, to do the best with the resources at our disposal he said.Describing his previous experience as a creative and now as a professional photographer, Candela said, I basically like both worlds, but now Ive chosen to be on the photography side and I love what I do.
