Para Jaramillo los robots permitirán que la gente se involucre más emocionalmente
Matías Jaramillo, Director of Digital Initiatives at Dieste attended the SXSW event and wrote in Provoque Weekly an article titled: When Robots Make you Cry at the SXSW. He wrote about several topics that are on the agenda, related to marketing and the digital world.Regarding purchases on social networks, he said that it seems that any retail or store wants to be online. “People use whatever tools are freely available to them: Think Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and Messenger.” His bet is that Facebook will become a global open market with a single Facebook currency. He mentioned an experience he had with two robots programmed for discussions. For Jaramillo, this was a glimpse into a future where we will share the world with them. He also thinks that this will create a new space for the business of companionship, care of the young and the elderly or for long journeys into space. But these advancements make him wonder what will happen when robots and artificial intelligence replace a gigantic chunk of human labor. “The solution right now is to design a Universal Basic Income for all” he proposed. He said that machine-made creativity is happening now and is helping with script writing, video editing, choosing the cast for a commercial, and other things. To end, he talked about augmented reality, saying it makes the mundane magical. This implies that creatives and storytellers will soon have a gigantic new canvas to play with. But that, on the other hand, he is scared about spam.
