Sierra: Ford es una compañía que representa valores muy fuertes que admiro
María Sierra, Founder of La Cooquette, a bilingual culinary YouTube channel, was acknowledged by Ford as a Legendary Woman for her career in social activism. In 2012 she founded the NGO Tándem, where she carries out solidarity projects in El Salvador and Honduras.Sierra was born in La Ceiba, Honduras and has always taken part in social initiatives to help her country. Through her channel on YouTube, she has become an influencer of social change. She is currently part of FunLuVi, a non-profit organization that addresses the needs of children with kidney failure. In February 2016 she led a campaign to help against Zika, to urge Hondurans based in Los Angeles to donate mosquito repellents and nets for communities in Honduras. “This acknowledgement means a huge honor, not only for the recognition of the effort I put forth in my work but because it comes from a company that has strong values I admire, such as innovation and valuing people” expressed Sierra. “I identify with Ford´s efficiency pillar, because it allows me to develop my creativity. I think that to achieve any goal in life, the key to success is to know how to use the resources available in the most efficient way possible”.Her proposal for Ford would be a program to make known the richness and variety of Latino communities in the U.S. through their gastronomy.
