El video también fue reconocido con una mención shortlist en el Festival de Cannes 2013
In the recent edition of the Clio Awards, Marca Miami was recognized with Silver Clio for the creative use of music in the Auction video. The Miami-based agency also held a position on the shortlist in the same category for the Makeup video, both initiatives for the Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking. “We’ve been doing the pro bono work with FCAHT for the past nine years to raise awareness about this exploitation of the modern age. In these two videos, we wanted to use the powerful licensed music to help tell the story of these victims,” Armando Hernandez, founder partner and creative director of Marca, said. The agency found a song created by the late Oscar Brown, Jr. entitled Bid ‘Em In. This piece was recorded in 1960 and represents the auction in cold blood of slaves. The agency juxtaposes lyrics of the song with scenes of what could be a casting today for young women and men to show that there are still slave auctions, but only the configuration has changed. The video was also recognized with a shortlist mention in the Cannes Film Festival 2013, a silver in the International Festival of London, a silver ADDY and a mention in the AICP awards.
