When Cannes Lions announced the names of the 12 women who will participate in the See It Be It 2015, Maddy Kramer, Interactive Art Director at LatinWorks, knew it was an excellent opportunity to inspire others to follow in the creative field. After confessing that she feels “super honored” with the invitation, after a 200-nominee selection, she says her expectation is to obtain as much knowledge as possible. In an interview with PRODU, Kramer maintains that one of her aims is to continue with the change in the industry. “All of us [women] can inspire our generation and those to come, so that women in the advertising industry can follow this career fearlessly and eager to continue growing professionally”.According to Kramer, gender equality in the industry is not yet completely balanced. “Currently, 11% of creative directors are women. Definitely something needs to be changed. I think the change must stem from women and involve men. We all have to be committed with this change for it to happen.” She explains that feminine creativity does not condition the future of the industry and that a good creative is not defined by its gender but by his or her experiences. “We are the ones who condition ourselves. The big problem is that many women, after they become seniors, leave the career out of fear of not being able to do everything at the same time, like raise a family and continue working.”
