Macy’s celebra el Mes de la Herencia Hispana con Jencarlos Canela
Macy’s also joins the celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of events in their shops located nationwide. As well as placing collections from Latina designers like Thalia Sodi and announcing events of Hispanic groups that will take place this month, the main star of this celebration is the Latino singer-songwriter and actor Jencarlos Canela, who the company feels is part of the Latin culture, music and fashion. Between September 22th and October 15th, Canela will have presentations in several Macy’s stores in Miami (FL), Chicago (IL), Houston (TX), Santa Clara (CA) and Downey (CA), accompanied by Latina radio celebrities such as Liliani González and Lizeth Herrera, as well as the Editor at Latina.com Digital, Jada Gómez. Clients who buy a piece of clothing from the brands Impulse or Young Men, will be able to meet Canela in person and have their picture taken with him. Macy’s commitment with diversity is a comprehensive part of its strategy, as it is possible to see on their web page, dedicated to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month. For the 50-thousand employee company, diverse perspectives help to boost creativity and innovation. They have Employee Resource Groups that offer information and education to assist the company in creating a work environment. Their Employee Resource Groups reach 10 population segments through 19 groups, including La Voz, dedicated to empower the Latina community and nourish Latino leaders in the company.
