Aguilera: Nos planteamos qué pasaría si le robas un episodio a Escobar
Gabriel Ferrer and Luis Aguilera, Associate Creative Directors at ALMA, shared the insights for the creation of Narcopedia and Episode Leak; pieces that were part of the awarded campaign they made for the launching of the second season of Narcos on Netflix.“The client gave us this insight: The story is the biggest spoiler. It is something most programs try to avoid, but they wanted to put that at the forefront and we thought that was cool. So what we did was develop Narcopedia, full of spoilers, to the point it ruined the surprise of things in the program that weren’t true facts” said Ferrer. “They wanted us to be completely transparent and we knew that viewers have the tendency to watch historical shows and do research on their phones to know what happened. So we decided to create this space for fans, so they didn’t have to go to different sites to investigate.”Aguilera highlighted that with Episode Leak they wanted to play a sort of prank on their Facebook users. “There were high expectations and we wondered what would happen if we stole an episode from Escobar. We posted an episode that seemed real and 10 minutes after, he grabs the camera and says “Hey!” It was very good because it generated a great deal of PR at once, the response was very easy and organic.”
